January 17, 2011 By Ron 2 Comments

Autoresponder Marketing can be the most effective tool to advertise your businesses in the virtual world. But you need to understand what tools are required first.

autoresponder marketingStudies reveal that using an autoresponder you’ll have an 80% more effective rate than sending emails yourself. If you don’t know what an autoresponder is, its software designed to advertise using internet mail.

If you’re a bit fuzzy on how an autoresponder works, here are the basic features which an autoresponder should have.

You should be able to set up unlimited mails and the autoresponder must send them when you schedule it. Most of the free autoresponders will let you send a limited number of mails. This feature alone could save you a ton of money because of the time saved.

Make Sure Your Have Double Opt-In With Your Autoresponder Marketing

This feature is a must. It is one of the most important aspects because of spam. Spam is a huge sore spot for internet users that is currently governed by highly enforced laws throughout the world.

Here’s why the double opt is an important asset.

When people subscribe to your website and receive messages from you they can accuse you of spamming. But with this feature they can’t do that because after registration any new subscriber will be asked to confirm his e-mail address.

Autoresponder Marketing Allows Automatic Subscriptions

This feature is very useful and any autoresponder should have it because when you have thousands of subscription there isn’t any admin which can deal with so many. Another aspect of subscriptions is when people opt to unsubscribe from your emails. These must be dealt automatically as well to not violate any laws. An autoresponder can handle these requests for you.

You should also include an unsubscribe link in your e-mails in compliance with mass email laws.

An autoresponder should be able to import or export e-mail addresses from you mailing list manager or other software which have e-mails in its database. This way you don’t have to perform double the work transferring data from one source to another.

Autoresponder Marketing Is About Personalized E-Mails

This feature will increase the chance of the person receiving the email to open it. An autoresponder will personalize the email so it doesn’t look like a mass email. Everyone hates over generalized emails and many people won’t open them if they look a mass email. The personalization feature is a great tool to using an autoresponder in an effective manner.

Good autoresponder marketing must have all the above features in order to do it job successful and help your business bloom. How can you find a good autoresponder?

Well there are lots of them but the majority of them aren’t too good. Find one such as Aweber or Getresponse which will offer a trial period of use and if you’re satisfy with it buy it. This way you’ll be given the opportunity to explore the autoresponder marketing software to see if it is something you want to continue with.

If you still don’t now how to choose your autoresponder then just find some trusted reviews or vist some of the forums online.
