How To Use Your Autoresponder To Make Money

June 28, 2010 By Ron 4 Comments

Setting up an autoresponder is important for any online business, however many get it backwards here’s why.

As an affiliate marketer you think the first priority for you once your website has gone live is to drive as much targeted traffic as possible to the pages that are going to make you money right…

Well you are actually wrong simply because you needed to add an autoresponder as soon as your site went live.

AutoresponderIn this article we are going to give ideas on how to make even more money using an autoresponder.

So why would you need an autoresponder if you already have the traffic that you can convert into sales? Most people online today are not purchasing on impulse even if they find what they are looking for, like they did a few years back they are now visiting numerous sites to gather the information and facts they need before purchasing.

This is why it is important to have an autoresponder setup on your site, because once that visitor leaves in search of more information there is a very good chance that they will not return.

By having your autoresponder setup and ready to go you will be able to bring them back to your website and hopefully make that sale.

So What Does An Autoresponder Do?

Well firstly, it is much more than a software program that simply sends emails, it actually helps you to build a successful affiliate business if done correctly by sending out relevant and useful information in the form of a series of email messages. It can also help you to process any online sales and keep your affiliates updated with new products and services all at the click of a button.

Setting Up Your Autoresponder

The most effective way to set up your website with a autoresponder is through these services Aweber or Getresponse. These are web-based companies who specialize in email marketing and are the leaders online right now.

You simply need to setup your details in the control panel of your autoresponder account and then place some code that is generated for you onto your website to start adding subscribers to your list.

How To Get Subscribers

This can be different depending on your niche market but overall the most generally excepted tactic to get subscribers to optin to your autoresponder is by offering something for free which can be an e-book, software or even membership to your website. It generally needs to be something of interest and value to your visitors to get them to give you their email address.

So What Will You Use The Autoresponder For?

The most common function is the sending out a newsletter many marketing sites do this but it has also been a very long standing tradition for many very big online stores as well to do this.

If your website is promoting affiliate products you can be writing reviews about software products and services and send them out to your subscribers. If the article is good it will increase your affiliate sales. You can even send out email on different topics with in the same niche all while advertising your product using tips which will illustrate your products advantages.

Or if you are providing general information you can queue up a series of articles that going to be useful to your visitors again with a hook that will lead them back to your website.

There are many different ways that you can use your autoresponder not only to help you increase sales and traffic to your website but to help your visitor to feel appreciated by giving them the information they need, which overtime will give you the online authority in your niche and grow the community you have created.

This is only a fraction of things you can do with an autoresponder, if you want to know more about how you can increase your online revenue with email marketing then check out our post on Optin Profits and send your autoresponder service into overdrive.

Do you recommend setting up a follow-up series or stick to broadcast messages?

      Hi Bella

I believe every niche is different so you might need to test this out. it also depends on what the broadcast is, if you are just sending a broadcast to sell something then I don’t believe it will be very effective. What I have is a follow up series or emails which just comes back to my blog posts, I only use a broadcast if there is something very special or important that I believe my subscribers should be aware of.

      Hi TraceyAnn

You need to take it slowly when using autoreponders with your business and you really need to build trust with your subscribers long before you send them any marketing emails or they will simply un-subscribe.
