How To Find Hot Blogging Topics

September 15, 2009 By Ron 2 Comments

A good blogger knows that lots of traffic can be generated when writing about “Popular Topics”, but are these topics and where do you find them.

You have decided to get into blogging as you have seen some excellent results from others who are doing the same but now with your blog is all set up and ready to go you would like to see some traffic.

Well, there are a few ways you can accomplish this some are better than others so we will give you a few ideas so you can start.

Hot Blogging TopicsOne way that you can effectively bring in traffic to your blog is by blogging about something current, and what people are searching for, it may bring you loads of traffic?

Try to make sure it ties in with the theme of your blog or you can do a random post to gain new readers. To find information on hot topics that is current and up to date, you should be using a service supplied by Google called Google Trends.

How To Pick Popular Topics For Your Blog

Finding new ideas to blog about is easy. Firstly take note of any hot blogging topics that interest you, you can do this by keeping up with the news, latest fashion, music and more?

Then blog about it!

If there is a new makeup product that has just come out, write-up a review if you’ve tried it. If there is a new song that just came out from a famous artist, write about it.

Make sure to use SEO keywords in your title and post on what people are searching. Get involved on a social networking site such as Twitter to tweet your new blog posts. Build up your networking contacts on Twitter by looking for other bloggers. Most bloggers like to read other blogs and tweet separate posts if it’s interesting.

Read other twitter pages to see what your contacts are tweeting. You can be sure to find a lot of hot blogging topics through that alone. You can also re-tweet it on your blog if there is an interesting blog post from one of your network contacts. You can also find more hot blogging topics using Google Trends and even the eBay marketplace and Yahoo Shopping (just select your category, and you will see a Whats Hot Section in the bottom Right of the page).

Once You Find Hot Blogging Topics Set Up Some Contest

Setting up a blog contest on your blog will bring in tons of traffic, it may even help you make a dollar. Have one pertaining to your blog theme. If you are in fact blogging about makeup products, have a giveaway for a popular makeup product or even coupon codes that will give them a reduced price is also a good tactic if you are associated to the product as an affiliate.

There are many girls who would be interested in that who would be sure to subscribe to your blog to find out who the winner will be. Keep the contest interesting and interactive.

Have a mailing list where you offer something for free. People don’t normally like to sign up for mailing lists due to spam emails. If you offer an incentive to your readers it will be sure to add more people to your list. Maybe your blog is to promote your products or even affiliate products, your mailing list can be created to offer 50% off coupons to only your mailing list subscribers. Be creative with it.

Setting Up A Poll Or Survey To Keep Your Blog Interactive

Having a poll or a survey set up on your blog keeps it interactive for your visitors and the look of being a busy site. Make sure that you set it up to something that is current and relevant to your site and what people are talking about. For instance, American Idol is very popular and the finale will soon be approaching. Have a list of the top people and get your readers to vote on who will win.

Finding hot blogging topics for your blog theme is easy but getting the blog traffic is hard and even harder to keep if your stray off topic. Keep your blog topics fresh with catchy headlines using keywords and keyword phrases.

Most importantly once your blog is operational make sure you have a place for people to subscribe to your blog whether that is a newsletter offering something for free or your Blog Feed so that you don’t lose any of your readers.

Blogging is meant to be a great writing experience so don’t over think getting traffic too much. It will come in time if you are persistent in writing fresh and relevant content for your blog. It’s even easier once you find those hot blogging topics that others wish to interact with to start seeing a little money.
