After you have used WordPress whether on the free server or on your own hosting account you are going to realize very quickly its flexibility for creating and managing content rich sites. You can easily switch between the many WP themes which are free or for a more professional look a paid template from companies like StudioPress, and improve its functions by using the many different plug-ins available and even some custom programming if that is what is needed for your blog.

It is worth noting that WordPress can be used for much more than a blog. I use it for 90% of my affiliate websites. I have created a plugin that allows me to import a datafeed directly into wordpress, creating a post for each product in the datafeed.

This means that I can great a new website in minutes when I find that niche, and concentrate on marketing rather than coding a website

What a impressive post! I did a kind of blogging for dummies over on one of the CPA Marketing forums and I thought it was too easy for them, but the number of emails I got asking questions just like what you addressed was unbelievable. As young people today we have grown up with computers, but it’s easy to forget that even individuals just a a couple of years older have not! Really good post! 🙂

Yes Burton WordPress has become so easy to use now and it really does not matter what your age group is or your skill level.

WordPress has also just one a huge award for the best Open Source CMS for 2009 which is really one of the first big things to happen for them.

Its a bit like the old saying on how “The Best Things In Life Are Usually Free” just like WordPress.

I’ve been reading recently that it’s hard to switch from WP to a different host. Because WP has been so convenient, do you think they purposefully make it hard to stray away from using them and their tools?

      Hi Sam

This is not a hard exercise at all to move WordPress to a different host. If you are using a good hosting provider then they will do it for you but if your not, then you should have a look at something like this How To Back Up Your WordPress Blog.

If you are talking about moving from WordPress to lets say Blogger, then I am not sure how it is done as I have never tried and I am not sure why you would want to…

      Hi James

There are so many features available to you when using WordPress that it is hard not to attract traffic. Being able to hook Facebook and Twitter directly into your site feed using Feedburner and even having the ability to show your comments in these social networks can draw a huge amount of traffic to your site very quickly.
