What Are Autoresponders

March 15, 2010 By Ron Leave a Comment

Autoresponders is the name given to a class of software which is designed to automatically respond to any e-mails sent to your address. These programs can be simple or complex depending on the users needs.

AutorespondersThese programs appear when the “mail transfer agents” couldn’t do they job because of” bounce messages.” These are the failed messages anyone can recognize because the message says “your e-mail could not be delivered because…”

You will always receive an email message sent back to you similar to the above when, for whatever reason the mail fails to be received by the intended mail recipient.

Today’s autoresponders should avoid creating “e-mail backscatter” (a spam side-effect). If this happens the e-mail will be considered spam (unwanted message) and sent to the spam box or deleted.

Spam is a very sensitive subject with today’s internet users and could make or break your business.

The autoresponders are usually used as an internet marketing tool which keeps prospective clients informed about the latest offers and products. The autoresponders are divided in two main categories:

Outsourced Autoresponders The ASP Model

These type of autoresponders can operate on the provider’s infrastructure and they can be configured using a web-based control panel. This autoresponder is easy to implement at least for the end-user but with a price. There is a typical monthly fee that can range in price depending on the service and software you choose.

Server Side Autoresponders

These types of autoresponders can only be installed by experimented users and it can be enabled on your own server. If you’re not knowledgeable with autoresponders in great detail it is recommended that you hire a professional.

An autoresponder can be incorporated into the “electronic mailing list” (an advanced usage of e-mail which can easily widespread the information) software in order to confirm posts, unsubscribes, subscriptions, or others activities.

An autoresponder is a program dedicated especially for e-mail and with it uses a message that can be schedule and sent it to a specific number of e-mail addresses at any given time. An auto responder will help to increase the number of your sales and visits to your site.

The user doesn’t need to do anything with the program because it will do the job for you. The internet is full of these programs and it’s an easy way to start advertising on the internet.

These programs are designed for the website owners and administrators. It will help them to send a specific e-mail to all subscribers. The e-mails can be scheduled and sent it at specific time intervals for the most effective marketing.

For anyone who is interested in using this for their business then it is  recommended that you do some research on the internet because these kinds of software are developed every day with new and interesting features.

Keep yourself updated and always in the know.

One of the downfalls to users is that they don’t stay informed on what’s new and up and coming.

This information is vital for affiliates to have successful use of autoresponders and their email marketing efforts. If in doubt hire a professional or ask questions until you have a proper understanding of how autoresponders work.
