Tips for a Successful Facebook Marketing Campaign

August 3, 2010 By Ron 4 Comments

In any business venture or effort whether it is online or even your own affiliate business, there exist certain elements which, if implemented or incorporated into your strategy, boost the chances of your success such as a Facebook marketing campaign.

Facebook Marketing CampaignThese are simple tips and strategies for Facebook marketing that may often appear minor or trivial, however, they are important and can boost performance significantly.

Your Profile

Your profile is your face to the rest of the world. It should be attractive and impressive to the eye. A good profile stands you in good stead and gives a good impression of your business.

Information on your business page should be brief, precise and to the point. The keywords here are simple and effective.

No unnecessary distractions or irrelevant information here. You can post relevant photos and videos on your business page to create interest and attention.

Your Approach

Facebook is first and foremost a social networking tool and then a business tool. That is an important fact to remember as you embark on your marketing campaign on Facebook. It keeps everything else in perspective. Approaching Facebook with a salesman’s quick-sale type of mentality is guaranteed to backfire and trip your marketing campaign.

Warning: Facebook FBML will not work for you after March 11th 2011.

It is irritating and puts people off. No one wants to be blatantly sold to on a social networking site. Your approach should be to build relationships first, and then promote or sell later. That makes selling easier too.

Fan Pages

A fan page on Facebook is an important forum for your contacts and clients. It provides a platform for interacting, sharing and exchanging views. It gives your clients a platform to voice their opinion and give feedback. Fan pages add exposure to your business and are helpful in enhancing brand awareness and loyalty.

Updates on your business fan page are reflected on your fans’ walls and, in turn, get to be seen by their friends. This means free publicity. Fan pages provide helpful impressions and insights to your brand and induce fans to visit your website.

Be (pro)active

Being an active member in your groups and participating in group events and discussions on Facebook is important. It gives you and your business the much-needed visibility and exposure. This is achieved by participating in Webinars and other discussion forums. By interacting with group members and contributing in whichever way, you are seen to be involved, interested and worthy of attention.

That, in itself, is a big plus to your marketing effort.

Add Value

Whatever you do on Facebook, let it add value to your audience. People go where they feel their interests are taken care of and where they derive benefit. Therefore share freely with your Facebook audience by giving your expertise, tips and insight. Post relevant content, videos and blogs and give advice where necessary.

In so doing, you earn respect, credibility and trust and come out as a thoughtful, caring leader. Your crowd of potential customers is then likely to stick with you for a long time.
