Facebook Applications And Marketing

July 17, 2010 By Ron 4 Comments

If someone wants to reach a market on Facebook, one of the best ways to do it is by affiliating themselves with an application, another article on Facebook marketing.

Facebook Marketing ApplicationsThere are many applications associated with Facebook which allow people to test their IQ, play poker, be a virtual farmer, or pretend they are in the mafia.

All of these applications have their own set of marketing advertisements with them. Each time someone logs in to play one of these applications, advertisements fill the page to the right.

When visiting Facebook, a person will see numerous advertisements from the moment they log into the website. Once visiting affiliated applications, those ads increase a great deal depending on which application they are visiting.

What Are These Facebook Applications

Since Facebook has more than two hundred million users, the applications are a popular tool associated with the Facebook experience. While many of these games or services are not directly linked to Facebook, they use the website as a host.

Even though these applications are separate from Facebook, the Facebook marketing advertisements that come with them are linked to the web server.

When challenging a person’s skills there are numerous advertisements that also pop up.

Recently this author looked into an application to design and run a virtual zoo. Each day when logging into the zoo there are “deals” to check out. The first deal was an easy one asking me to become a fan of the virtual zoo on a webpage.

However, the second deal had me looking at laundry soap and wanting me to become a fan of that.

The third day was much the same with yet another household product. Consequently, this application has a direct link to certain marketers in an attempt to get more exposure to their products. Not all applications are like this however.

Many of them will only have advertisements down the side of the webpage. In one case, an application where you can “buy and sell” peoples’ pictures will have advertisements between the pictures, down the side of the page, and even across the bottom.

The Marketing Is Nearly Always Topic Related

Most of these ads are geared towards singles or dating websites thus proving that the commercial direction is given based on an the applications topic. So could you use this knowledge as an affiliate marketer?

In society, marketing is as regular as putting on shoes to go outside. A person cannot go anywhere without being bombarded with product logos, commercials, and billboards for any and every product imaginable. Even at home this is no different with television commercials, newspaper ads, and the internet.

Within the Facebook community there is no change. Marketing and advertisements are everywhere in the social networking community as well.

Is It Annoying Or Have They Got It Right?

From the moment a person signs into Facebook, they see the Facebook marketing at work. As they continue through the social networking site with whatever they may be doing the ads continue to surface throughout.

Whether sending an email to someone, changing their status so the world knows what they are doing at that exact moment in time, or playing on one of the applications there are constant advertisements flowing through the web pages.

I am trying to create a blog for selling electric. Since in Philadelphia and other states electric has been deregulated I am able to offer electric at least 10 percent discount. There will be no change to the customer bill they still will get the bill from the same provider they have been.
