How To Start Promoting Your Money Sites For Free

March 28, 2009 By Ron 3 Comments

Here is a complete overview of the tools and techniques that you should be using to start promoting your money sites (Affiliate Sites) as an affiliate marketer.

Webinar 1 – How to Make $10,000/Month Online

These are all free tools that you should be using to increase not only the authority of your website but your very own web presence as an affiliate marketer.

Promoting Your Money Sites Image

Step One Choosing Your Web Platform…

When first starting out as an affiliate marketer and not knowing a lot about anything my preference for my money sites was what is called a static or HTML page. Overtime I realized that I was constantly being knocked out of the top 10 in the search engines by what you would now know as web 2.0 or being more specific “WordPress Blogs”.

So if you are about to start your affiliate marketing career then my suggestion would be to start with a WordPress blog. There are many free templates and designs available online as well as free hosting at WordPress.com website.

Choosing The Right Keywords

This is an area which can make or break your career from day one if you don’t know how to find the best keywords to promote. There are a few options available but I think the best place for you to start is with the Free Word Tracker Tool where you can see how the keywords work and will get a better understanding  of how it all works without having to spend any money.

Once you have some idea you then need to research your niche market that you are wanting to promote, open up the free Word tracker tool and type in the product name or service into the search box.

It All Starts With A Domain Name

The most suitable scenario for your domain name is to have what is called your primary or main keyword in the domain name you select and try to keep it as close to the beginning of the domain name as possible and under twenty characters. You can use .com, .net. org as the first choice and then work down the list of domain extensions until you get the domain name you need.

Choosing Your Hosting Company

This is an easy choice for me as Hostgator has everything you need for everything discussed on this page. I have tried many other hosting services over the last five years and Siteground is the one that stands out for me for ease of use and updated technology.

Optimising Your Web Page With Your Selected Keywords

This is an area that can get a bit over whelming for many affiliate marketers in the fact that they try to jam as many keywords into one page as they can “IT DOES NOT WORK” pick your best two keywords and start with them. When I say best two keywords I mean most traffic least competition.

The keyword density of your page is something that will be discussed until the end of time but  if you keep your primary keyword to about 2% to 3% of total words on your page you should do alright in the SEO rankings. Also try to use  a theme of keywords throughout your page text.

As an example if your page is about “baby showers” try to use themed words such as tea party or girlie party which are all related to baby showers. Doing this makes your page more relevant without having to stuff keywords and risk getting labeled as a spam site.

Writing Meta Descriptions For Each Page

Make sure your description meta tag is descriptive and describes what the page is all about. Not all search engines use these tags but it is still required by the major engines. You should also consider using different descriptions for your website when submitting to feed sites , social bookmarking and your link marketing efforts.

Vary your title keywords when back links (reciprocal linking) are involved they need to look natural as possible to the search engines, this can be as simple as adding an additional word to the incoming link text.

Resource Pages Every Site Must Have

Every affiliate site I build has these page elements which are privacy, about, disclaimer and of course a contact area which are just static pages on my blog. I also make sure that the RSS Feed if it’s a blog is accessible and there is a sitemap usually generated with a plugin and a robots.txt file so I can direct the search engines effectively throughout the site this effectively passes more power to my money pages (More on this is My Newsletter).

Creating Email Addresses

There are three email addresses you should definitely have which are webmaster@ for any site business then you should have abuse@ where people can report any issues relating to spam or other issues and lastly you need to have a personal email yourname@ where you can build partnerships and network with other webmasters.

Of course, you can have as many emails as your hosting permits but these are the main three that I use and for some sites, I forward to of those email to my personal email address to cut down on the amount of accounts I have to check daily.

These are the basics of promoting your money sites keep an eye out for the advanced tactics that I use to totally smash any competition and consistently get in the top 10 of Google when promoting affiliate products.

For me, who is not poor at HTMLs but is eager to make money online, blogging is such an attractive alternative. Just like what and how you are doing, which is quite admirable.

I have a couple of domains lying around that I registered a while ago and I want to start making some money from them. This sounds like a plan I could follow but I’m not sure if blogging is the way I want to go yet. I like the idea of adding email addresses to help build business relationships though.

      Hi Stacie

I see you are into Joomla, I personally prefer WordPress to create my sites. If you are going to do this especially if it is more than one site you will have to allocate a few hours a week to get them up and running first. If you use a blog and can start getting some traffic and comments then half the battle is won.

The comments will help to keep your blog turning over so you will only have to post a new article weekly if you have time constraints. And yes no matter what business you are in, you have to collect leads and in this case email addresses.
