Understanding PLR Article Content And How To Use It

August 21, 2009 By Ron 9 Comments

PLR Article Content (Personal Label Rights) is a fantastic way for you to research your niche market. However to many webmasters and especially affiliates who believe they are getting content that is simply a copy and paste exercise.

Can This Hurt Your Online Business

Personal Label Rights is where you have the rights to use the content but not the right to sell it. It is very common for people new to the online business arena and especially in affiliate marketing to think that they can purchase PLR Articles and then place that content on their sites.

What many don’t understand is that most of this article content has already been used by the seller and then sold to others making that content duplicate simply because others have already used that content on their sites.

Find out why your business could be suffering right now from using too much PLR Content.

For anyone that has an online business whether you are selling your own products or services or are considering a career in affiliate marketing there is one problem that seems to effect everyone. That problem is being able to create quality content for your sites that is not considered “DUPLICATE CONTENT” by the search engines and even the article directories.

However before we go any further into this article we are not talking about scrapping content we are however going to show you how you can create your own unique articles by using some simple tools that will save you hours of time in market research.

So Where Do You Find Your Market Research?

plr article contentThere are many different ways for you to do this research without having to physically visit every website or article directory to do it.

Programs such as Instant Article Wizard Pro can save you countless hours of research where all you do is place your keywords for the research into the search box select the amount of websites you want the research drawn from and it then brings in any content it can find in relation to your keyword.

Instant Article Wizard is very similar where you can also select whether it is a blog, RSS feed and even by country if that is what your target market is focused on.

Once you have collected all the relevant information you need to actually construct your own unique content from the research you have obtained, remember this is not an exercise in “copy and paste” this is sitting in front of your computer and actually writing the article yourself.

The benefits as an affiliate are limitless in building credibility for you as an expert in your field as well as building one way back links to your online business if the article is of professional standards.

So if you are serious about your online business then you will take the time to do it correctly and not risk being caught up in the search engine filters by using content that is already posted everywhere online.

But What About All The Personal Rights Content That Has Been Purchased?

Yes, this is the same as doing research but you need to do your own re-writes. The search engines are looking for fresh content not content that is on 50 to 100 or even a 1000 other websites. This was one of the many mistakes marketers made when the craze for PLR articles was big in 2007.

Everyone was purchasing the articles and it was a race to see who could get them up first without making any modifications. This tactic also forced some of the article directories to place filters on article submissions to stop the Duplicate Content from being submitted.

You will still read today from many that have used PLR articles without modifying them how it’s so successful. But what they are not telling you is that they have a network of blogs or websites that they are also using to point at their articles in an effort to have their articles flagged as more significant than yours which in the past has usually worked. maybe not so much so now in 2014 where anyone using duplicate content runs the risk of losing everything.

In this way the search engines have to make a decision as to which of the duplicate articles it finds is more important and the ones with the most links usually win.

This is why you need to change your thoughts from  the “Duplicate Filter” that is actually spoken about across the internet to actually knowing it as the “Competitive Filter” and if you have more links than anybody else pointing to your articles you will win.

Find Out How You Can Bring Your PLR Articles To Life And Increase Your Online Income

So as you can see if you use PLR Content and are not willing to re-write it and make it your own then you need to spend hours of your time building a network of sites filled with “unique content” so that you can then have back links from those sites pointing to your duplicate article content. Really does not make sense right! Why not just create something unique from the start.

Don’t you think it would be easier to re-write the article yourself post it to your site and then allow others to link to it which gives your site much more power in the search engines usually called an “Authority Site” and potentially makes you an expert in your niche market and potentially will help you to obtain more sales.

If you are thinking about using any of your PLR articles to submit to article directories such as EzineArticles be warned that they frown on this heavily and can on occasion terminate your account if you are caught.

PLR articles are useless if you use it “as is” . Just try to rewrite it and use.

Yes you are right, they potentially are useless if you don’t make them your own…

Especially for any one wanting to be seen as an expert in their niche market, as the PLR content is usually on 100’s of sites all over the internet word for word which does not reflect well on any of your site visitors if they realize this.

Yes Kamil, as with everything on the internet there is a right way and wrong way…

If you happen to have a stock pile of PLR articles on your computer then the best suggestion is to go through them find what you want and then re-write them making the article yours…

This is no different than going to websites and researching your niche and should not be considered as scraping content or anything else under handed.

There is definitely the up and downside to them. You’re right, it can be a pain to sift through all the information out there and a lot of it is completely useless. But at the same time they can do wonders for your business.

Leaving any PLR content you have paid for to just gather dust really does no make sense to me. If you just used a re-writer like The Best Spinner to make them useful to your needs and then submitted them into Unique Article Wizard you could at least get a lot of one way back links to your site giving you a huge advantage on your competitors.

PLR articles can be a help of a hindrance depending on how you use them. If remade into unique content they can be a big help. If left as is, they are worthless.

      Hi John

There is only one drawback that I have seen with any one new to the Internet using PLR content, they don’t make it their own. They simply purchase the products or articles and then start using them on their sites. What they don’t release is that in some cases hundreds of other people are doing the exact same thing.

By doing this they fall foul of the search engines and all their efforts to create a viable online business go to waste.
