Is Article Marketing Dead Or Just Misunderstood?

November 18, 2009 By Ron 4 Comments

I usually don’t comment on other people’s opinions about article marketing or anything else for that matter and especially those that claim to be marketing gurus.

Update 2013: These tactics are no longer an option if you are submitting the same articles to websites or article directories you are wasting your time. If you are using any form of re-written content this in my opinion is also a waste of time. Forget about all these shortcuts as these are nothing more than a ticking time bomb. You need to be focusing only on providing a great user experience through quality content on your site. If you can do this you will get a much better response from the search engines and any site visitors.

Is Article Marketing DeadAnyway as an affiliate marketer I am constantly reading other posts and I found one that claims that mass article marketing is dead which when you read it, the article would have you believe that article marketing is a complete waste of time.

However reading further into the article it was discovered that this SEO guru had been submitting duplicate articles to all the article directories and was now very confused as to why this didn’t really work.

Remember I said SEO Guru.

The post then goes on to say that there are only four sites that are worth submitting articles to which are; EzineArticles, Goarticles, Articlebase and Articlemonkeys.

And initially I could not agree more with this but what he is really doing and without realizing it, by only suggesting to use these four article directory services there is only going to be four IP addresses pointing to your domain and still massive duplicate content issues.

Which is at some time is going to get the attention of the search engines and you will most probably lose some of your links from these directories. This happen in 2012 and is still continuing right now with links being discounted all over the internet.

Firstly for the simple reason that you are still publishing duplicate articles all over the internet which will for sure affect your linking strategy and secondly you are now only using four different sites to publish your articles. If you attack this type of strategy aggressively and by that I mean with hundreds of articles it could start to look like a link farm which is definitely a no go area when it comes to search engines.

What the post does not seem to explain is that every now and then there is a correction on links pointing to just about every website with the only ones that I know of that are not effected being .edu or .gov or any sites associated with these domains, firstly because they very rarely do any marketing of any kind and secondly they are given a lot of authority due to their domain status.

So How Can You Effectively Market Your Articles And Get The Most Benefit For Your Efforts..

The first way is of course manually writing article after article and submitting them to article directories and blogs all across the internet with the relevant text links pointing back to your site. However to do this you will either have to outsource the work or spend every single day writing articles which I am very sure that none of us want to do.

There is a better and more effective way to do article marketing…

magic article rewriter boxFirstly you are going to have to spend some money to get this done… So if you are ready let’s get into it.

So by now you will understand that by submitting the same article over and over again to the article directories is not as effective as some would have you believe and  is really only a small part of your marketing strategy, so what if you could take it to the next level where every article that you submit is going to give your online business a valid back link.

Magic Article Re-Writer is a tool that can do just that, it is very flexible and simple to use and allows you, again depending on the time you spend creating your article re-write to build up to 1000 unique articles with different keyword anchor text throughout your articles that are ready to be published to article directories and other sites such as blogs all over the internet.

You have the option to purchase Magic Article Re-writer separately or with another very powerful piece of software called Magic Article Submitter with the ability to submit to hundreds of article directories from your desktop.

We have been testing this software and others such as mass article control and Brad Callen’s article spinner to compare and Magic Article Re-writer is definitely ahead of the  rest when it comes to ease of use and effectiveness in re-writing the articles and doing our article marketing.

There are currently more and more services coming online right now offering you the opportunity to submit your re-written articles into their directories such as Unique Article Wizard $67 a month and MyArticleNetwork $47 a month as well as others appearing nearly daily.

So if you are serious about making it online you should remember this… Do Today What Others Wont, To Have Tomorrow What Others Want!

And as a result many of your blog or website pages will start to appear in the top 10 listings of the search engines.

Have a look at Magic Article Re-Writer for yourself and you decide if it can benefit your online business.

Well I have used most if not all of the other “Mass article spinning software” including MyArticleNetwork and Mass Article control and frankly they were all crap.

Oh yes they post your articles and they get published, but honestly the links I got were so low value Alexa.com rejected almost every one in terms of relevance.

I do use article marketing but I spread my content across multiple niche’s manually and avoid “Spinning” altogether.

Article marketing works if its natural and most “spinning” takes too much time anyway. I may as well just write another article from a different perspective.

Sorry to hear that and yes I would have to agree with you about the article spinner you have mentioned there are better ones out there for sure. And where you have experienced disappointment I have experienced success when it comes to all aspects of site promotion using articles and re-writers but it took me a little time to figure out how it all fits together.

As for low quality sites yes you will get some of those and you will get those that use “Nofollow” on your link text but overtime and I mean six months or more your feeds and links start to get picked up by many other services and the links take on a different aspect with getting comment track-backs, feed subscribers and even articles posted into Technorati which this site Affiliate X Files is actually now ranked #2 in Small Business due to article marketing and MyarticleNetwork and Unique Article Wizard. We have also had featured articles appear on Webmaster Radio PR7 site.

Here is an article you might be interested in How To Increase Website Traffic this works but you really need to work at it to make it successful. This site has only been working since March of this year I do not use any reciprocal linking at all and have been listed at #3 in Google for “affiliate marketing” out of 38,800,000 and I have only been using this tactic of article marketing and the networks mentioned.

Our homepage has gone from unranked to PR 3 in five months followed by some of our posts getting Pr2 or PR1 depending on the age as well as our category pages being given PR2 by Google, and something that I did not expect was that Google has already allocated our site with “Site links” which you can see in your webmaster tools, this was definitely something that I didn’t expect to happen so soon or even within the first year or so. I have other sites that are four years old using very conventional methods including submitting articles to the directories and still only very few pages indexed and definitely no site links to be seen.

We are also now being constantly approached by other affiliate marketing sites to allow them to place articles on our site or even review their products on our site so for me it is working and if the day comes that it stops working I will post it here to let you all know about it.

I am one of those guys who writes the articles, although not every day. I don’t believe in duplicate submissions. I’d rather write 100 articles and market them via twitter of backlinks. Unique content is my aim.

Yes Ryan everything you do online today needs to be unique and especially your site content and article marketing… I don’t know how many people have contacted me saying article marketing does not work or that it is a scam and I should take it off of my website.

But once you ask the right questions you find out that they have 10 PLR articles which probably another 1000 or so people have also received and they are then trying to put these into many different article directories usually getting declined but even if they do have the articles accepted into the many low quality directories the link really does not count for much.

You have to make everything you do online “YOUR OWN” unique to you and the results will follow.
