How To Introduce Your Blog

September 1, 2009 By Ron Leave a Comment

Blogging has evolved significantly over the last few years making it very easy to set up a blog, and especially for those with no technical skills which is why it has grown in popularity.

If you have an online business or are into affiliate marketing then the chances are that it would be a given that you also have a blog somewhere online. With all the free software available online today, you can set up your own affiliate blog within in your website.

Setting Up Your Blog

All you need to do then is set up a few posts before you invite your customers to see your new blog. For ideas on what to blog about, you can have an introduction post to welcome your readers. You can have another post on what your blog will pertain to. You should make certain that your weblog follows your business brand and not stray off the blogs topic and theme.

how to set up your blogIf your business is in regards to golf equipment, then you can blog about golf techniques promoting your golf products. If your business is pet sitting services, you can blog about things pet owners want to know about when it comes to their their pets.

You can make your blogs tone conservative meaning very factual or you can go to the next extreme to fun-filled.

You really need to decide on what it is you want to convey with your business to your customers (visitors ) but always ensuring that you keep it on the same track more or less. You don’t want to have a business selling Christian t-shirts and then start blogging about where the best clubs are in your area.

When you’ve decided what you will be blogging about, make sure to have a complete blog design that ties in with your business. One of the best weblog design sites we have come across is a site called Studiopress they are affordable and will give your online business a very professional look and feel.

If you are adding the weblog within your business website, have your blog easily recognizable as your business by making sure you use the same logo within your blogs banner and have the same color theme as your static business site. If you have a graphic designer, they could probably offer you a great deal since it will be very similar to your website design.

Know How To Introduce Your Blog

After you have set up your new blogs design and have finished up writing the initial weblog posts, you want to decide on how you will introduce your weblog to your customers and of course the internet in general. Some businesses are fortunate enough to never have to say a word and customers seem to find their way onto their blog.

To build a good relationship with your existing customers, that is if your weblog has customers at these early stages some will and some want it would be a good idea to have an invitation sent to them like a grand opening giving them the very first look at your new blog.

Offer an incentive if your business can afford it. Have a small discount coupon to those who subscribe to your weblog. Ever person online loves discounts and freebies. As with any online business not just a blog your should be building a email mailing list so you can stay in touch with your customers.

Find Out What Your Customers Interests Are And Write About It

blogcustomersinterestsGet feedback about your weblog by having a poll or survey on your blog. Ask your customers questions to see what their interests are because if you do this right they will soon be your readers and followers if you give them what they want to read. Have a poll on your blog or a survey of questions or ideas you would be willing to write about.

For example, if you do in fact sell golf products, ask your visitors if they want to hear about golfing techniques.

Perhaps, they want to hear reviews on your golf products. Maybe they want to be kept up to date on golf tournaments around the world. Whatever the topic is, you will find many great ideas from your own customers!

Once you’ve introduced the business blog to your customers, keeping it up to date is most of the battle. Set up your blogs schedule when you will be blogging and stick with it. If you’re unable to do it yourself, have people in the company take turns blogging.
