Affiliate Program Marketing What You Need To Know

April 24, 2009 By Ron 7 Comments

The content of your affiliate program marketing should be geared toward long-term traffic through strong search engine optimization for short SEO.

The material you circulate should be directly related to the merchandise you’re selling. By doing this you will have more targeted searches to your website’s informative articles, and then the affiliate links can go to work in bringing traffic to your money site.

Why You Need To Use The Right Content

Affiliate Program Marketing

Bear in mind, affiliate marketing is and will always be a ruthless business and for those that are not committed to it they will probably never even break even. You can expect some associates to make a significant income while many flounder.

The answer is being aware of the golden rules of the game. In no way stop searching for the leading keywords that will draw would-be or repeat customers to your site.

Simply Embedding  Affiliate Links Is Not Enough

By no means be satisfied with the status quo, as you’ll have to keep searching for new keyword phrases to put in to your list. Make an effort to change existing content and write new articles because the algorithm software of the key search engines will reward your money sites with improved search engine rankings.

Always Track And Test Your Results

You have to be diligent when it comes to tracking and testing. If you don’t participate in tracking, you will never know which keywords are bringing in the business and your online marketing labors will be less effective.

What I am saying is you need to be tracking everything including your website copy or even your PPC (pay-per-click) marketing ads if you are using that marketing tactic. You should develop this data to improve your approach daily.

This is constant as an affiliate marketer, and one that you’ll be re-writing and changing repeatedly as you become more experienced. To be a Super Affiliate you need to be ready as techniques change and develop in actual fact you need to keep evolving as an affiliate marketer.

You need to pick one or two experts in their field of affiliate marketing and follow them as well as that there are always many articles on the subject that are in abundance online that will keep you well-informed.

When it comes to the program you have chosen to promote, be aggressive analyze and test everything constantly until you find what works.  Use an E-zine or Newsletter, better still give an e-book away for free if this fits your market, use banner ads to test results, classified ads, offline media such as newspapers, radio, television, message boards, or anything you can possibly think up and has  the potential of making a sale for you.

Sending Highly Targeted Traffic To Your Affiliate Links With Article Marketing

The best way to start sending traffic directly to your own money site is by writing relevant articles about different aspects of your niche and posting them in public article databases or using a service like unique article wizard with a link back to your website, make sure however when creating links that you mix up the text slightly so that you can’t be accused of spamming the search engines. Creating An Opt-In Form Is Also Crucial

It is extremely important for your marketing goals to collect email addresses from an opt-in form from your site, and to also try different types headlines until you find what works. You need to understand from the start that this is your online business.  If you are going to succeed, you have to be on top of the affiliate game.

Affiliate marketing is not for the faint of heart. Unfortunately, too many people start out with the wrong attitude about what it takes to be successful and usually quit with-in the first six months writing this business model off as a scam.

The work is challenging, but there’s a plain formula that has to be followed – be familiar with the marketing you have chosen and refine your game plan on a daily basis if necessary.

It doesn’t matter what the project is; the affiliates that are on top are those who have taken the time to acquire the knowledge and skill to succeed.

    Hi Hausen,

This is also a wordpress blog that is using a studiopress template. As for recommending a platform, I would say to you that it is much easier if you just find a few you like nad then test them to see what suits you and the niche that you are in.

So many people think that all you need is to get the SEO bit right and the rest takes care of itself but if you want to actually have people come onto your site and use it and interact with it, it still needs to be in a fit state for humans to use. Some people just compromise their content for SEO fit keywords and think that will be fine.

      Hi Dana….

Yes you a very right in what you say… You should never stuff in keywords just to have them there, the article needs to flow and read well or you will loose your readers very fast. This is something that I see time and time again which in reality even though I know what they are trying to achieve not only turns me off the article but usually the whole site in general.

Doing this also will take away your ability to look like an expert in any niche market your want to try and enter.

Marketing (offline or online) is a dynamic as opposed to a static activity.

As a relative newcomer to online marketing still in the process of mastering WordPress to build websites in several niches I noted your “Affiliate marketing is not for the faint of heart…” paragraph.

    Excellent points you’ve made here.

Those who stand still in business or fall for the “set and forget” push button hype that abounds will ultimately flounder and fall by the wayside. Article marketing has come in for some criticism recently with the perceived backlash from Google algorithm updates and the apparent drop in EzineArticles ranking, however, I believe the cleaning out of duplicate content is a good thing.

Having spent many years in commission selling and operating several successful (offline) businesses I’m aware that building any business takes time and requires both dedication and commitment through good times and bad. Obviously there are some differences between offline and online marketing, however, the basic principles that have stood for many decades (even before we had computers and the internet evolved) still apply.

A reputable seller + a good product + a willing buyer (hungry market) = sales.

Your dedication to providing useful and valid information for those new to the game is appreciated.

Just one wee (semi-critical) comment if I may. Could you make your links open in a new window?

      Hi Jonathon

Yes forget about overnight riches and sitting on a beach drinking cocktails, if you want to make money online you need to work hard structure yourself correctly and be able to ride through the tough times.

Thanks for the heads up on the links i will look at doing that as soon as I can…

First off I would like to say terrific blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing. I’ve had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Appreciate it!

      Hi Dave

I think this is something that effects everyone when trying to write. What I do is write a post for the site and then save it as a draft then the next day or so I will go back and either edit it or add more content and I might have twenty articles I am doing that with on different topics for the site. It all depends on what I feel like writing as to what article I will edit

What I have found to be the best way is to not take to much on, meaning if you have ten blogs and are trying to write a blog post for each you will not get anywhere very fast you need to plan everything out and only focus on one topic at a time or you will lose your thought process when writing. I also close all programs and especially email and chat programs when writing anything.
