Niche Websites And Affiliate Marketing

July 3, 2009 By Ron 7 Comments

If you are just starting out online especially if you are going to be doing affiliate marketing there are a few things you need to know about designing your niche website or what I call your money sites.

Firstly if you are serious about making money online stay away from free sites you will not get very much credibility from your visitors if you are using a site that does nothing more than advertise offers to your users. This is the price you usually pay when using a free hosting service.

We Do You Start?

niche websites and affiliate marketing imageSecondly don’t rush with your niche websites there is time and enough products for everyone to make a living online so think carefully when picking a niche that you can easily build a money site around, doing this will give you a good long-term residual income stream.

A good niche especially when starting out will have a good combination of keywords that your target audience is already looking for as well as, low competing websites.

Unfortunately this is where many online marketers and affiliates stumble and when starting out that is why only around 2% of people starting an online business succeed.

Finding The Right Keywords And Phrases

Once you have found your keywords with low competition you should take each one of these keywords and use it for the creation of one written article for each page of your site. Before continuing I will give you my formula for finding a good keyword and some website examples to help you. The way I do this is to find keywords using Wordtracker that have at least 20 searches a day with no more than 10,000 competing websites.

I will then take that written article which is unique content (Not PLR) and re-write it at least three times and submit it to article directories to get one way back links back to the site, one link will point to the home page and the other link will point to the article on the site.

Creating your niche site in this way, and being focused on one specific topic with many relevant keywords, you will be able to attract a wide variety of people in that one niche. Using narrative articles on your site centered on the keywords gives a chance for your visitors to browse and discover more information that they may need. This will give you a huge advantage over your competitors by making you look like an expert in your field.

What Are The Best Keyword Tools

What are the keyword tools I use for this, the first is a software program called Keyword Elite as well as Wordtracker I have found overtime that these tools are the best way for you to discover the keywords you should be using to draw visitors to your money sites.

These programs will allow you to create a large list of keyword phrases and keywords that people are searching for online and that are within the niche you have decided to pursue for your site.

These are the programs which will also tell you how many other websites are competing with you for the same keywords or phrases. There is another tool that has just been released called Market Samurai (this is a fantastic tool for judging competition by country specific terms and competition). I give you more on that once I have used it for a while.

You then choose which of these would be most profitable by determining which have the least competing websites. This means you have a chance at making it to the first or second page of search engine results, but that also have a respectable amount of people searching for that keyword or phrase each month. Creating pages from the  keywords you have selected will assist you to build solid Niche Websites and affiliate business.

Make certain that you pick a topic that you are going to be able to cover properly meaning you can add value to, doing this will give you the fastest and most effective way to generate revenue online. The most lucrative affiliate marketers, who use their skills to find niches and then combining that with a good website content and a handful of relevant affiliate links, usually have a good spread of niche sites in a variety of areas that they have started, doing this ensures that they have a constant stream of residual income.

There is absolutely no limit with what you can accomplish with your niche websites , unless you find that you do not have the marketing abilities or the required funding to make it happen.

Otherwise, the possibilities are endless with niche websites and the profits can be enormous!

    Nice Article.

I like the mindset you have when you talk about building for long term. There are far too many people online proclaiming how easy it is to make money fast and I find in principle it is not that easy.

Long term business building should be the mindset online as building relationships is the way to great online success.

    Thanks for a good article.

Hi – very useful insights. I agree that a big part of the skill is finding a market with the right balance between competition and sufficient interested buyers. It´s great to have tools like Keyword Elite and Wordtracker to measure these things objectively, instead of having to rely on my gut feeling, or just plain wishful thinking. I would love to hear about your experience with Market Samurai.

    Thanks,

    Carl

      Hi Carl

Market Samurai is also a very powerful keyword tool so much so that I have let my word-tracker account lapse. There are quiet a few different options with in Market Samurai but again it is a very good tool for finding a weak niche as well as being able to search for markets within countries not just a broad search. It is much much more than just a keyword tool.

Carl here is a complete post I did on Market Samurai

Finding keywords with a large amount of searches and low competition is definitely one of the hardest parts to succeeding. But, if you do find a keyword like that go for it! You will start making money in no time.

      Hi John

Its funny that you have brought that subject up as I have just experienced something very similar. I had a domain name laying around collecting dust so I thought I would populate it with some content to see what would happen. Over the last 10 days and 15 posts later the site is averaging 300+ visitors a day, I did no keyword research or even gave much thought to the content.

However please be advised that this was nothing more than luck, you need to do some market research and find out where your market is.
