Is Your Article Marketing Ineffective And A Waste Of Time

December 3, 2009 By Ron Leave a Comment

If you have been online for any length of time and are interested in affiliate marketing or any form of online marketing or article marketing for that matter.

Then you would have noticed the huge amount of marketing articles circulating across the online community with most of them being found on article directories as well as numerous blog site.

So why has this become so popular with webmasters and many affiliate marketers all over the world

article marketingUsing article marketing is the one SEO tactic or should I say Marketing tactic that has stood the test of time.

You simply draft an article that is at least 300 words in length or more that is focused on your targeted niche and submit it to the article directories so that you can receive a one way link back to your site.

This gives your online business more exposure due to those articles being circulated to other sites.

The major article directories are visited by all types of websites and online business owners who are looking for free content to place on their website/blog.

However with the growing popularity of article writing it has become more difficult for article marketers to stand out from the crowd with so much competition. If you visit any article directory online, you will see literally thousands of articles with very similar content and title descriptions.

Why You Want To Be Standing Out From The Crowd

To get noticed with in the article directories and have your story picked up by many other websites/blogs today and have an effective article marketing campaign as it is not viable to do this if all you are going to achieve is lost time and money for your efforts with your online business.

Virtually anybody can create an article but it takes much more than typing content into an article that you think will benefit your online business. Today you need to be drafting articles that your potential customers are searching for online and that you website readers want.

To become successful with article writing, there are some elements you need to look at before you start.

Basic writing skills are necessary when writing an article for your article marketing. For many its second nature to put pen to paper and write, however for others it’s not common place to know how to create an effective article that can sell their business online, especially when it comes to writing a good opening paragraph, body and closing.

Many of these people are normal business people or just every day people and not necessarily experienced writers who are starting an article marketing campaign.

Effective article writing is a must if you want your article marketing to be a success. Overtime you will definitely develop a writing style that your readers will recognize in the directories or other websites this is why it is very important for you to write about topics you know and can come across as an expert in that field.

Having Some Basic SEO Knowledge Will Help

You should take the time to learn basic SEO. It’s not as hard or time-consuming as some would like you to think. You can simply do a Google search on SEO basics and you will find all the information you need.

Or you can just use these tips to get you started make sure that you use your main keyword in the title of your article followed by using the Bold, Italic and Underline text commands for your primary keyword as well. Then in your resource box which is where your text links will be make sure the link from your article is also the targeted keyword which is pointing back to your site.

You need to find what keywords are important to bring in traffic as well as sales for your niche topic. If your article is well written and executed, your article will become highly ranked with in search engines. It would be advisable to write about a niche topic that has not been saturated by the millions, but can be hard to find. If you do your research correctly and use a research tool search as Keyword Elite 2.0 it will be worth the time and effort.

Make sure your article is beneficial to the intended market that you want to read it and then follow the link back to your site. You need to have a title that is going to catch your market’s curiosity and you can do this by writing articles that your readers can not find anywhere else online.

If you become known as an expert on that topic, they will be coming back for more. Website owners who choose to use your content on a consistent basis will help grow your business by leading their readers right to you.

You need to have a complete understanding of your customers which will give you the answers you need to target your market before you start writing any articles. When you have selected the best keywords/topics for your articles you can then start typing out all of your ideas for each article you wish to publish.

Make sure as the ideas come to you that you write them down as you could forget what they were once you start writing the articles.

Make sure to maintain a writing style that is consistent for all the articles you submit to article directories this way your readers will come to know your writing style and even other sites that will publish your article to their site giving you even more one way back links.

Very important before you submit any articles to the article directories, blogs or any article service make sure they have been proof read and make complete sense to the reader. After all this is your image and online brand and if it is full of grammar errors and does not read right then that is how your business will be presented to your potential customers.

If you follow these simple guidelines with article marketing, you will have an army of followers on these article directories. Just because article marketing is free you don’t have to blend in with all the other articles out there online. Stand out from the crowd with your article marketing and you will reap the rewards for your efforts.
