How To Get Started With CPA Marketing

January 25, 2010 By Ron 4 Comments

As an affiliate marketer one thing that is vital to increasing your online income is to always be looking for an alternative source of income such as CPA marketing to ensure you are diversified enough to survive any ups and downs that you may encounter with your affiliate business.

And in the current economic climate lot’s of people online don’t have the extra money to spend on products or services, so they are now searching the internet for products that they can get for free or at a very reduced price just buy submitting some personal information.

This is where CPA marketing (Cost Per Action) comes in. CPA marketing is a very viable way once you understand the concept in which you can earn extra money online for your affiliate business and you only need to have a working website and a little knowledge to get started today…

Getting Started With CPA Marketing Is Really Not As Hard As Some Would Have You Believe

CPA MarketingCPA marketing can be very overwhelming for many even for the most experienced online marketer confusing. One reason for this is the fact that many are now seeing the potential and growth that this industry is going to product and are constantly releasing new information about how to get involved.

As with most information that you can find online some is very good and will help you get to where you want to be, where other information is solely posted to get you to act whether it is the right information or not.

Here Are Some Tips To Help You Understand More About CPA Marketing

To understand it better and avoid the confusion further down the line, you have to know that CPA marketing and being an affiliate are two very different things.

Firstly the advertisers that are in the CPA networks are interested in you as the promoter setting up your site to get you visitor to act, hence the name “cost per action”. This action performed by your site visitor can be something as simple as filling out a form or by downloading a free toolbar for there browser and you are not paid by the CPA network until that has been accomplished.

Now when it comes to traditional affiliate marketing, you are required to make a sale of a product whether that is an ebook, software download or service that you are promoting in order for you to receive a payment, but with CPA marketing, you get paid for every action completed by your site visitor that directed to the advertisers web page, like getting them to sign e-mail forms or download trial offers by the advertisers.

This is one of the reasons that CPA Affiliate marketing has grown in popularity very fast, and even though the percentage of payouts are much lower than what many affiliates are use to, the conversion rates when using Cost Per Action Advertising can be much higher.

However one making that statement you also need to be very clear on the fact that if you do not have a decent amount of web traffic to your site then the income generated can be small if any.

What You Need To Be Able To Provide To The CPA Marketing Networks Is This…

In CPA marketing, what you need is to get people to sign up via a web form or get their email address for a product’s free trial offer (popular with health products), and once that has happened you are paid because of the action that you encouraged your visitor to make. CPA marketing advertisers are very willing to pay for this because the information you collect for them is crucial to their online business.

If you take the time to visit any of the CPA Marketing services online you will notice one thing with them all which is they are always looking for new business leads and potential clients in the future which they can turn into valuable customers later on. CPA marketing has been created solely with the end user in mind.

Maybe you already have a website that is generating a large amount of traffic and if this is you then you have probably already been approached by on of the CPA Networks to start promoting their services.

Why Your CPA Marketing Plan Is The Complete Opposite To Affiliate Marketing

One thing that is hard for affiliates to comprehend with this type of marketing is that you are now targeting FREE OFFERS where when you were having to sell a product to be paid as an affiliate you would stay well clear of the word FREE in any of your promotional tactics especially in the search engines as you would end up with a lot of traffic but no buyers for your product.

So as a CPA marketer you will be offering such things as giveaways and perks in exchange for their email address or personal details. By doing this and if they sign up and submit the forms or whatever is the requirement for you to get a commission, cpa advertisers will pay you depending on how many actions were completed. The commission structure can start at 0.30 to a $1 and in some very rare promotions a hundred dollars per submission.

So you can see now how this can be alternative source of income for you as an affiliate or even an online business owner. All you simply need to do is create yourself a website/blog fill it with relevant unique content on your selected niche (around 20 pages minimum), generate some traffic and you will have the ability to make some additional money online and this form of marketing will allow you to do this over an over again all on autopilot.

If You Think You Can Start This Online Business Model Then Simply….

Build a targeted niche website/blog have affiliate CPA marketing links embedded so that you can get visitors to view your CPA client’s web page and then have them sign up with some forms or ask them for their emails so they can be notified about products (Cost Per Action).

If you take the route to be offering free offers to your visitors you will notice a much higher conversion rate opposed to your visitors having to pay for a product for the reason that they will not be spending any money on it which tends to be more attractive to many of your online visitors.

Thank you for explaining CPA so clearly. I’ve been wondering how it differs and now I think I have it. Instead of focusing on sales, CPA can be any action such as signing up for a newsletter or generating a lead. What most think of as affiliate marketing is referred to as CPS (cost per sale) or PPS (pay per sale).

There is far too much marketing for the sake of marketing going on online. What we all need is to focus our time and efforts on promoting only what creates a healthier economy for all. It would be better if affiliates would promote real businesses offering useful products and services instead of an endless stream of make money online offerings that don’t work.

Hi Gail and thanks for such a comprehensive reply…

I would have to agree with you completely about promoting real businesses as their are so many that promise a lot but deliver nothing or their product is super seeded before you can really make use of it. So the bottom line is this if you have a website which is producing a massive amount of traffic then look to the CPA networks, however if you have lesser traffic then it is better for you and your business if you focus on the PPS model which is affiliate marketing of physical products and services.

Ron, your post is amazing. I learnt so much just in a few seconds reading your stuff than I ever did with others. I look forward to reading more of your articles. Now I feel that I can go ahead and do this myself. I felt always hesitant. I will start on my own and follow your directions.

Thank you again for making it so clear.

    Cheers
