Affiliate Marketing Resources Which Should You Trust?

October 19, 2012 By Ron Leave a Comment

Why do so many new online marketers fail?

Affiliate Marketing Resources Which Should You Trust

Most people love the idea of working for themselves. But a handful of factors always get in the way of success. The wrong mindset, a lack of money, and a lack of knowledge doom most entrepreneurs before they start!

In the affiliate marketing business, a little money goes a long way, but it’s also possible to start even if you’ve got next to nothing in your bank account and many do.

If you’re a determined self-starter, and you’re willing to wait a few weeks to see results, it’s possible to go from zero to hero with a minimal investment.

But knowledge can be a big stumbling point. In this kind of landscape, which resources should you trust and why?

Courses and Seminars

There’s a cottage industry of in-person courses and seminars that promise to hold your hands through the process of building wealth. Newbie affiliates usually flood these courses hoping to get a leg up on the competition.

And to be fair, these seminars can be valuable sometimes for the personal connections you make while you’re there.

But going to a seminar in person can be a minefield of hidden expenses.

Once you’ve paid for the hotel, your travel expenses, and the seminar fees, you might be disappointed to find that the host is out to sell you another expensive product. Even if you get a few useful nuggets of information, you might feel like you sat through an infomercial by the end of the day!

There’s nothing wrong with going to an affiliate seminar hosted by someone you trust. There are usually plenty of great giveaways and opportunities, and the host is likely to share information he might not freely give to the public. But this kind of expense is usually best for an intermediate marketer looking to swim with the big fish.

Affiliate Marketing Videos

Videos on affiliate marketing are a great resource for visual learners who want the personal experience of a seminar in an easily repeated format. With video, you can replay things you didn’t understand, or you can watch the host of the video do stuff on the computer that you can quickly follow along with.

A video is a great format because it encompasses audio, video, static images, and text. The only downside is the large file-size and the investment of time it takes to watch them all.

Affiliate Marketing Books

Even today, eBooks (and physical books from places like Amazon) are the quickest way to give a lot of information in a short amount of time. Even the most extensive eBooks are smaller than an average MP3 file, and their efficiency means an author can go into as much detail as they want without worrying about time concerns or file sizes.

Best of all, it’s easy to make the book searchable or insert a linked table of contents so you can always find a specific piece of information when you want it!

Find Informative Newsletters

You might be put off by the idea of subscribing to an internet marketer’s mailing list. But don’t be so protective of your inbox that you miss out on some good value that is free. Successful affiliate marketers are always giving advice that can help their subscribers, and the “private” atmosphere means that, much like a seminar, you can get a lot of valuable information that isn’t freely shared online.

Your experience will depend on the newsletter owner, but this can be a fantastic resource and a way to learn what’s working for other people right now!

No matter what affiliate marketing resources you pick, find something that fits your learning style, and don’t ignore the many free resources available online.

They’re an invaluable resource for any new affiliate!
