It’s cheap. Meaning you don’t have to invest hundreds and thousands of dollars on product development and all the other costs that come with it.

For instance, a fancy website that looks legit so potential customers don’t have to think twice about whether or not they’re getting their money’s worth.

Due to the minimal expense required to start this type of business many people will try their hand at affiliate marketing without to much success simple because they don’t take the time to learn how to write reviews and promote products correctly, in fact some affiliates are just down right dishonest and will lie about the effectiveness of a product just to make a commission.

You may want to read my article on the seven deadly sins. What you are going to find in the follow content is ways that you can effectively promote and market products as an affiliate, keep reading if you want to learn a little more.

So How Do You Get That First Sale?

Well Firstly, you are going to need a couple of things to get traffic and bring potential customers back.

  1. Get people on an email list.
  2. Create a Blog Post that interests your readers

If you have just started out then it is probably safe to say that you email list is either very samll or non-existant so lets assume you are just starting out so option two is where you will need to start.

How To Do A Product Review

The process of building a site chock-full with affiliate products narrowed down to your niche can be time-consuming. If done correctly, however, you can amass income without lifting a finger!

The most important factor….

Your content should lay the foundation of trust that is important when it comes to converting online. People won’t shop at stores if they don’t believe that the online store is trustworthy. Therefore, you need to make your audience feel safe when browsing and making transactions on your site or blog.

One of the many ways to foster trust with your audience through content is by writing objective reviews about your affiliate product. The review serves as an informative overview of the product you are selling on your site. It should be as comprehensive and exhaustive as possible to provide readers with a better understanding on whether or not they should buy the product.

Follow these steps…

  1. Add a summary box
  2. Share your story
  3. Be Objective
  4. Put the product through the wringer
  5. Review products you like

Here’s an example of a real life review…

An example of showing how much you like a product is this SEMrush review by Matthew Woodward. He truly believes in the power of SEMrush that he features 68 ways on how to use to tool to increase your search rankings.

Therefore, you need to focus your energies on reviewing things that you like because it will reflect on the review. It helps that you details how you used the product and why you think it’s awesome because your readers will feel the same. And the message will become much clearer if you show passion for the product.

Why You Need An Email List

This is one of those things that many believe they don’t need, however after a few months online you will realize that this is  very important factor in being successful with affiliate marketing.

There are a lot of people trying to run successful affiliate marketing businesses without a email list, many still think it’s old-fashioned or erroneously believe it doesn’t work. But email marketing still happens to be the most effective form of marketing that exists. If you’re not convinced, let’s look at a few of the reasons you need an email list as an affiliate marketer, in fact every business needs one.
You Own Your Email List

If You Don’t You Wont Get To Re-Target Or Even Update Your Subscribers

Websites can go offline, they can get hacked and even be banned. Social media networks change, almost constantly sometimes. Just look at the social network Blab which enabled users to create live on air visual radio type shows. People built huge audiences and viable careers using Blab as their platform.

Then the people behind Blab decided to change everything. People who had built email lists could switch easily to a new platform, but those who hadn’t built their own email list were left with nothing. Don’t let that happen to you.

You Will Also Be Able To…

  1. Generate Revenue Whenever You Want
  2. Survive Through Difficult Times
  3. Increase Customer Lifetime Value
  4. Never Worry About Duplicate Content
  5. Once Trusted Your Offers Can Become More Aggressive
  6. Much Easier To Segment – (Sort into categories for better promotional matching)

Without having your own email list you will find it much harder to generate an income, a list allows you to build trust and credibility with your site visitors making it more likely for them to buy products or services from you.

Boost Your Social Media Presence

Social media networks are a great place to market your goods and services. They have such a huge following that they are becoming some of the largest marketplace on earth. Take Facebook for instance. At the end of 2016, it could boast of 1.86 billion active users. Instagram, on the other hand, had 600 million users while Twitter had more than 300 million.

Tapping into such a large market is every entrepreneur’s dream. The first step, however, is to have a social media presence. It allows you to reach out to and engage with both existing and potential clients. As the level of engagement increases, your client base follows suit.

How then do you boost your social media presence?

  1. Have Clear Goals and Objectives
  2. Focus on Content
  3. Get Personal
  4. Use Visual Media

It is essential for you to have some form of social media presence to help you engage your audience. Even if you only have time to use Facebook then you can potentially engage with 2 billion users just to give you an idea of the potential.

The next and many say most effective way is by using an autoresponder series to build trust and relationships with your audience.

Steps to Building an Effective Email Autoresponder Sequence

An email autoresponder sequence or series helps you automate your email marketing campaign while at the same time, nurturing your leads and making more conversions. Building an effective email autoresponder sequence is a powerful tactic that makes our lives as marketers much, much easier.

Setting up the first sequence might mean making a few mistakes, but that’s totally OK! Creating these sequences gets easier as you become more familiar with your software.

Whether you’re a beginner or advanced marketer, use these six steps to guide you in creating your own powerful autoresponder sequence:

  1. Choosing an End Goal
  2. Segment Your Email Lists
  3. Choose Your Software
  4. Map Out Your Autoresponder Sequence
  5. Create an Effective Autoresponder
  6. Monitor, Test, and Optimize
