3 Ways to Earn More from Affiliate Marketing

July 10, 2013 By Ron Leave a Comment

If you’re currently involved in affiliate marketing, you’re probably interested in ways you can generate even more revenue.

3 Ways to Earn More from Affiliate Marketing

To help with that goal, here are three options worth trying out:

Negotiate

In most cases, affiliate payout rates aren’t set in stone.

As long as you have something valuable to bring to the table, you shouldn’t be afraid to negotiate.

Whether it’s a significant amount of traffic or a strong brand, merchants and networks do value those assets.

Rethink Email

Because of all the hype surrounding social media, many people who are new to the affiliate marketing space don’t even think about utilising email.

However, while some affiliates are successful at directly converting traffic from social media sources, most find that those channels are better suited for tasks like building the type of powerful brand that Inbound Marketing, Inc. possesses or helping with SEO efforts.

Although social media may not be the right fit for nurturing traffic, that doesn’t mean there isn’t value in direct communication. Instead, it merely says it needs to be handled through a different medium. And the medium that’s been proven to be productive time and again is email.

While it may be possible to convert some traffic immediately through email, a lot of affiliates find that their long-term results are better when they focus on building relationships. This is done over the course of a few steps.

Once a visitor arrives at your affiliate site, the first step is to give them a reason to sign up for your email list. While offering something for free does this, you can be as creative as you want with the specific item you submit.

Optimize Your Email Sign up Process and Content

Regarding displaying this offer to visitors, you have two main options. The first is to put a box in one of the upper corners of your site. The second is to do a lightbox that displays over whatever content is being read.

While the second option can be quite useful, some people think it’s a little too aggressive. As a result, you may want to test both options and see which one is the best fit for your specific site.

After someone signs up for your list, you’ll want to confirm their subscription and then send them their free item. You can then begin sending actual emails. Since your focus should be on building a relationship, it’s best to start with informative emails.

By providing useful information, you’ll build the type of trust needed to close a sale ultimately.

Whether you start with one or all of the above options, you should be able to generate more from the amount of traffic you’re already attracting.
