How To Market Your Affiliate Programs The Right Way

December 16, 2009 By Ron Leave a Comment

As you venture online, you will notice the word “affiliate programs.”

Many webmasters have no idea what it means or consider this to be a scam and are bypassing an excellent income opportunity that has virtually no outlay to get involved. Affiliate programs are businesses online that offer a commission for each sale or referral lead.

Some businesses offer fantastic commission rates while others don’t provide enough to buy a coffee with.

Why You Need To Choose The Right Affiliate Programs

How To Market Your Affiliate Programs The Right WayYou want to choose an affiliate program that you feel can earn you good profits tied in with article marketing. Many people who are new to online think if you plaster your blog or website with affiliate programs that the sales will come.

Wrong!

If you run a blog about cats and you’re trying to sell high-end electronics through an affiliate program, you’ve gone about it the wrong way.

If you are entirely new to affiliate programs and you want to monetise your blog or website, the key here is to find products that are of interest to your niche. If you run a site on making money online, finding an affiliate program for money-making e-books would work well.

If you can’t find something so obvious because you run a blog on painting tutorials, you can find an affiliate program on art books or art supplies.

Article Marketing Is Still An Effective Way To Promote Your Online Business

Article marketing is not new and is used by many website owners to promote their affiliate programs. To drive traffic to your affiliate products or services, you must have people coming to your website. This is where you need to set hours aside each week to write relevant articles that will connect with your affiliate program.

These articles can either be informational that then funnel a potential customer to a sales page or a guest post on another site. Remember with a guest post than many webmasters do not allow you to link directly to a sales or landing page. You are better off using an existing post on your site that offers value to the linking website as well as the reader and then has a link from within that post to the sales page.

These articles will be distributed to free article directories. These article directories are visited by hundreds daily by website owners who are looking for free new content for their website.

The articles you write will all have your byline, and your byline should have a summary about you and link to your affiliate programs or website. With several articles online, you will start to bring in traffic to your site and possibly begin to earn an income from your affiliate links.

Writing articles for some may be time-consuming, and many website owners don’t use it for this fact. If you don’t use it, you’re leaving profits for your competition because they are using this marketing strategy.

There Are Many Writing Services Available

If you don’t have the time or the skills to be writing articles to promote your business, there are a few alternatives that you can use to get content for your site. These are membership sites where you can get material sent to you every single month without all the headaches of having to do all the writing yourself.

If you want the articles to be written from scratch, then you need to find a writing service that can do this for you such as Elance or Need-An-Article who have many writers with many different writing styles. Make sure however that however you outsource your work to that, they have a good understanding of your niche market.

Writing articles in regards to your affiliate programs can be easy if you set up a plan. Know what your affiliate product is all about. Do your research on the critical points of the products and even the cons. Play up on the disadvantages by having an affirmative answer to it. Begin by writing a review of your selected product or service.

Most articles that are submitted to free article directories range from 300 to 500 words. Keep your articles relevant and on topic and not too long-winded.

And over time you will start to emerge as the authority in your niche market, but you will need to work out it to stand out, after all, there are millions of websites online all trying to be the best you just have to be better.

Make Sure You Always Have A Workable Plan

Have a list of what you will be writing in batches for your affiliate products. Ideas to write about are reviews, features of the products, why customers need the product, where they can purchase the products and any niche related topics. If you don’t know how to find niche related products you can use the Free Google Keyword Tool.

For example, if you are trying to sell marketing products, then write about marketing tips that will help the reader and then funnel the reader to the sales page that has your affiliate link. There is an endless supply of topics that you can write about for your affiliate programs once you get the ideas rolling around in your head.
