How To Join The Ebay Affiliate Program And Make Money

January 31, 2010 By Ron 14 Comments

Joining the eBay affiliate program as an affiliate can be an easy way to make an income online.

eBay has many stories on successful individuals that have made millions with their affiliate program.

The eBay affiliate program is straightforward to navigate and work with. Once you get approved, you need to place a link to eBay which can be a link to even your own eBay store.

Many affiliates set up links to a popular category or particular auction link. When someone buys something from your affiliate link, you make a percentage of that sale.

Ebay Affiliate ProgramThe eBay affiliate program can work for anyone that wants to profit online. Most eBay affiliates are also online sellers, website owners and more.

eBay makes it easy for affiliates to set up text links, including an excellent variety of banner links if you prefer that marketing method, classified links and more for your eBay affiliate website.

If you want, you can even set up content that is automatically updated with the many selected auctions available.

How easy is that?

You don’t have to mess around with HTML or create your codes. If you already have a content website on electronic gadgets, you can monetise the site with popular electronic devices that sell well on eBay.

The top Ebay affiliates make money, and it is estimated to be over 100K each month in monthly commissions.

That could be you!

If you are an eBay affiliate, you can cross-promote other eBay sellers and get a commission from the sales. Always make sure to read the terms and conditions when you join an affiliate program so that you know how to utilise the program correctly.

By knowing how the affiliate program works and what it can offer you, it gives you more of a strong edge.

Most people who sign up for affiliate programs just jump right in without any market research or reading the TOS (Terms Of Service Agreement) what they can or can’t do with the affiliate links. Knowing this can create an advantage for you in your marketing strategies and the promotions you select to join.

There are thousands of affiliate programs out there, but eBay is still one of the most popular for affiliate marketers. With so many opportunities that they offer, it can be very profitable for you. There are many niche products that you can find on eBay that can mix well with your niche website.

If you have a website that offers rare comics, you can gain even more products by using the eBay affiliate program.

Gives You Access To Niche Products From Around The World!

Imagine being able to offer products without having to keep track of inventory or shipping off products to your buyers. This is a definite plus by becoming an affiliate of the eBay program. Imagine saving money on shipping supplies, protecting yourself from headaches about postal services and more.

Once you make a sale from your affiliate link, the commission is credited to you. This affiliate program is becoming one of the most popular to date and is growing each day.

The eBay affiliate program has a ton of positive feedback from affiliates and simply by bringing more traffic to the auction site gains even more buyers for your affiliate links. Using some straightforward and traditional marketing strategies you to can be involved in an industry where affiliates make money.

Before You Sign Up You Need To Be Aware Of This

However, this program is no different to many others online so before you decide to join as an affiliate make sure that you have a working website and not one that is still under construction as this could get your application declined.

Once you submit your application to the eBay affiliate program, you will then be asked to provide a text file with a unique code into the root of your website directory where the eBay affiliate managers will then authenticate it.

All You Need To Know About eCommerce Giant : Ebay.com

If you want to buy or sell something new, unique, and everything in between, eBay is the perfect place for you. The founder of eBay, Pierre Omidyar launched an eCommerce company back in 1995 with the goal of creating an online marketplace that will connect buyers and sellers. The company was then known as AuctionWeb, and the first item that was sold there was a broken laser pointer.

How did eBay happen?

Two years later, in 1997, the company changed its name from AuctionWeb to eBay. The founder and chairman of eBay initially wanted to name his company Echo Bay. Why? Because it sounded cool. Unfortunately, that name was already taken, so Pierre decided to shorten it, and that’s how eBay.com came to life. Over the years, the company only became more popular and acquired about 40 companies including Up4Sale, iBazar, Gumtree, StumbleUpon, and many others. eBay’s latest acquisition was Terapeak Inc. – a data tool company.

eBay today

Nowadays, eBay is one of the most successful eCommerce companies with headquarters in San Jose, California, U.S. The public online shopping company employs about 12,600 people and has a revenue of US $8.97 billion. In 2017, eBay had 168 million active users with buyers from 190 different markets. The auction kingdom is home to one billion products, 81% of which are brand new, sold by 6.7 million sellers.

The above content comes with an awesome infographic, if you have an interest in using eBay then this is a great post to help you get a better understanding ot the workings of the network.

      Sorry Rick…

Some people get a bit funny when supplying links thinking that I am trying to trick them into joining so here is the link https://partnernetwork.ebay.com/ (not an affiliate link)

I didn’t even know there was an ebay affiliate system but it certainly seems like a good idea.

Is it difficult to get approved? Once up and running, my site could really use this as I would be able to post links to certain areas of ebay that match what’s going on with my site.

There will be recommendations of products too on my site so I could post links directly to auctions while they’re going on to help customers buy.

      Hi Denise…

You need to to have a site that firstly is finished meaning that it is not still under construction as well as all of your privacy, disclaimer and Terms of Service displayed on the site then you should not have to much trouble getting approved unless your site is in a restricted category like Adult.

Once you submit it can take a few days for the approval process as they are reveiwed it is not an automated system. it took our site three days to receive a confirmation email from the Ebay Affiliate Network.

    Hi Ron
I have a question regarding the representation of e-bay in a country that does not have an e-bay
in its own Language or region.

Is their such an affiliate or joint venture program that e-bay offers?

    Thanks a million…………..Arian

      Hi Saran

Yes this is a perfect example of how simply setting up a website to make money as an affiliate does not really work. Of course you need to have a website but then you need to actively improve and promote making changes to find out what does work to get you an income as an affiliate marketer.

Another factor that seems to be surfacing after the Google Farmer Update is that your site needs to have social influence within the social community and be able to hold the attention of your visitors. The days of one page websites getting free search traffic are now over and quality authority sites will start to rule the day from now on.

I was unaware that eBay had an affiliate program available. What is the process of getting approved? Do you have to have an up and running website before getting approved? Do they look at how long your website has been up, content, and ratings? I’m just interested in learning more about the process. I’m sure this would be a great way to earn some extra cash.

      Hi Jes

Just do a search in Google for “Ebay Affiliate Program” and you will find it. Before applying however make sure you have a complete website with all the legals in place meaning your disclaimer, privacy and about and contact pages. All submissions are manually approved and what I have found is the more themed the site the better chance you will have.

Make sure also that you site is not to thin with only a few pages of content if you want to really join the program have at least 20 pages of content not including your legal stuff at a minimum.

Hi Sam, you will need to let me know a little more about what you are doing; such as do you have a website of your own or are you using free platforms? What market are you in and what are you trying to sell. Sounds to me like you are using paid ads is that correct.
